I've recently discovered the BBC series Sherlock, and I LOVE it! I don't have much free time for TV right now, so it's taken me a little while to finish the first season, even though it's only 3 episodes per season -- each episode is about 1+1/2 hours. As the title suggests, it's based on the Sherlock Holmes novels, yet it's placed in modern day London. If you're looking for a new series to pick up -- or if you just know good television -- then you seriously need to start watching Sherlock. It's so well made and the stories are complex and captivating (I get sucked in every time!). Watch, please! :)
It might sound cliche, but because of all of the stress from this semester, this song from Bobby McFerrin is frequently played on my iPod and iTunes. It just makes me think of somewhere tropical, which definitely relaxes me and makes me (you guessed it) happy!
In the days where our priorities are narrow and self centered, it takes a good splash of ice water in the face to wake up and realize that you are not the only person in this world. I remember watching the first documentary of Invisible Children in junior high and I regret so say that I really didn't think about it again -- one of the reasons being that I was in j-high and I had the attention span of a squirrel. This new video came out yesterday, and I'm begging you to watch it. So much work has already been done to stop this evil man, yet it's not over yet. I challenge you to not only think about this, but take action like I have. Please watch, share, and take action.
{I apologize for these super late SOTW's...I blame education.}
I recently discovered Autumn Andersen via a friend on FB. I really like her casual and upbeat rhythms and lyrics - a refreshing change from the overly dramatized songs on the radio these days. :)
