school stress...

Well, it's the middle of the second week of my first semester as an official college student (did you get all that?), and boy, is it work or what?...That's a rhetorical question, by the way. The answer is, of course, YES! I've been so busy, I haven't even had time to go out and take pictures! I FEEL SO DEPRIVED!! *deep breath* OK, I'm good now.

Anyways, I was going to be taking 15 units, but now I'm only taking 12 because my play class was canceled (really bummed about that :[ ). I know it was for the better, because now I can work Fridays and get more mula (yay!)...and I definitely need it. My teachers have now decided to bombard me with tons of assignments each class period, and make them due the next class period (2 days later). You know how much time that gives me to do assignments??...well, I don't know either, and I'm too tired to try to figure it out (I had math today). Oy, it's gonna be one long semester, I can tell. :)

I was looking at my old pics on my Flickr account today...this one makes me want it to be summer again. :)

lake tahoe~senior girls trip!...

Our trip to Tahoe was SUPER fun!! We went rafting, ice skating, beach-going, and more; it was great! I had SO many pics, that I thought it would be best to explain/describe each pic as I go. Good? Good. :)

~Our group up at Donner lake; our first stop.~

~More Donner.~

~One of my faves: watching the rain.~

~Fresh berries for breakfast! Yum!~

~A group shot.~

~Friendship; gotta stick together, right?~

~On our way to High Camp (where we ice skated!).~

~Did I mention I'm a baby stalker (I love the expression on the kid to the right; too funny)? :) ~

~I thought this was really neat. We were on our way down from High Camp when we met this lovely woman and her kids. I noticed that her necklace looked pretty familiar. I asked her if that was a LLD necklace, and she said yes! Work follows me even in Tahoe, haha. :) ~

~Yummy bruschetta/capresse (I don't know which one it is. As long as it's tasty, I'm good!).~

~Puttanesca spaghetti (which actually means hor-pasta...seriously, no joke).~

~Sand Harbor!~

~A seagull (I call her Chloe).~

~Again, I'm a baby stalker.~

~Last, but not least, my other fave. I didn't even realize the bird was in the shot until the next day...I love accidental shots. :) ~

All-in-all, it was an awesome trip. I love those girls so much, I can't wait to see what God has in store for them. Love you girls!!! :)

picnik party!...

I have been having WAY too much fun editing pictures since I've discovered Picnik...I'm in love. It's kinda like a cheaper, less-fancy version of Photoshop (Picnik's free!). I've been having a lot of fun editing friend's pictures. My friend Meghan just returned from missions trip to Honduras (super cool); that's the first collage pic. My friend Brittany's senior pics (ain't she a doll?); that's the second collage. I can't wait to sit down and edit all of my pics!! :D

I leave for Lake Tahoe in the morning, and I'm pretty excited! I REALLY hope I get to have a massage or something relaxing before I leave for home (I definitely need it).

I wasn't able to order my computer before I left *tear*, but that's okay. My patience will be rewarded. :) Can't wait!!

my inner techy's dream...

I am THIS close to getting my new laptop...and I'm STOKED!! I've been saving up for a long time now, and I've finally chosen which computer I want! The Dell Studio 1747 laptop with the Horizontal Blue design (shown above). This baby has everything I want, and more! My fave part: a Blu-Ray/DVD/CD drive, so you can watch Blu-Ray disks and DVD's; you can also burn DVD's and CD's...oh yeah, it's awesome. I had really wanted the touch screen (it would've been the same price), but it didn't have a high enough resolution for the Blu-Ray player (which is one of the main reasons I wanted this computer). So, no touch screen. But, hey, I'm not complaining. :)
One more paycheck, and I'll have enough for my first laptop...eeeeee!!! Once I set up a Skype account, I'll tell ya'll my screen name. :)

friends and little minions...

...and no, I'm not talking about Despicable Me.

So, the weekend started off great with getting to hang out with my awesome friend and swing dance buddy Garrett! We started off the day with a hike on the Bluff's trail in Montana De Oro, then back to his house where we made chicken cacciatore (which was delicious, if I do say so myself), and ended the night by watching The 5th Element (aka, Bruce Willis with hair). A pretty good day, in my book. :)

Then, there was Sunday...the day that held the WORST babysitting day of my life (thus far).

So, my friend Kelsey and I babysat my Mom's co-worker's cousin's "children" (if that's what you so choose to call them)...oh.my.gosh. We were stuck in the Embassy Suites in SLO for 8 hours. The TV's don't even have DVD players! I had to make an emergency phone call to my mother to bring over entertainment before the children strangled themselves (and us) from boredom. We weren't allowed to take them outside, so the kids were running a muck throughout the hotel...I felt like the worst babysitter in the world. I don't know how irresponsible parents do it! You know who I'm talking about, right? The parents who sit and chat while sipping their margaritas while once in a great while turning around and yelling, "Tommy! Get off the wall!" then going back to their conversation while Tommy climbs on the wall, jumping into the potted planter, then running everywhere, leaving a trail of dirt behind him...yeah, it was awful.

We went to happy hour at the hotel, which was pretty sweet. The bartender seemed to petty us pathetic souls by asking with caring eyes, "How are you doing?" to which, I responded, "...just peachy". He saw us sprinting down the hallway earlier, trying to catch the children without drawing too much attention to ourselves...yeah, we failed. He just gave us a sweet smile...he was pretty cute too, which definitely helped the overall situation, haha. :) So thank you random bartender dude. I couldn't have lasted without your sweet smile and awesome cherry coke beverage.

We ended our day with Haagen Dazs' Dulce De Leche, and $90 in our wallets...almost worth the insanity that we went through...almost. :)

The child in this picture was pretty much one of the children we had to take care of...she looked like this the ENTIRE time. By 8:30PM, Kelsey and I said, "OK, time for bed."...she didn't like that, much to our surprise (yeah, right). By that time, I had had enough. I scooped her up, "tucked" her in, and said, "Good night. I'll check on you in 5min." 2min later, she was fast asleep. The mother came back, and asked "Where are the little ones?" I told her, "Asleep." She asked, "When did they go to bed?" I said, "They went down at about 8:30" Her, and all the rest of the women in the room, mouths dropped. "She's usually asleep at, like, 1:00AM! How did you do that?!" To this, we responded, "She looked tired, so we put her in bed." While I'm really thinking, 'Holy crap! You SERIOUSLY let a 4 year old stay up THAT late!?!...You're INSANE!!'

So, that ends the sum-up of what happened (believe me, I could go on). I better get to bed now, big day tomorrow! O yeah, and I'm ordering my laptop this week!! SUPER stoked!! Can't wait!! :)
