stoked for tahoe!...

A few of us senior girls are going on a trip to Lake Tahoe in a little more than a week, and I'm getting SUPER stoked! At first, I wasn't too excited about it (the idea of spending a week with the same people in a small cabin wasn't really the most exciting thought). Now, we've changed our plans and are only going for 5 days (I'm going for 4 because some friends are coming in from out of town), I found out we're staying in a condo with a pool and jacuzzi (yes!), and I discovered how much stuff there is to do up there! It's gonna be pretty awesome. Can't wait!! :)

the journey, part I...

After my orthopedic appointment, Dad, Mom and I went to Randy's douhgnuts (as seen in Ironman 2...I feel so famous now ;] ), then to Universal City walk for dinner. So much fun!

I'm calling this post "The Journey, Part I". I know that at some point in the near future, I will be having surgery for my scoliosis. So I will keep you as updated as possible; the posts named "The Journey, Part {X}". I'm still in the kinda in "hush-hush" mode as far as my scoliosis goes, partly because I don't even know what's happening yet, haha. But I know that the more I share, the more support I will get. So, I just need to keep telling myself, "Don't be so quiet. Don't be afraid to share what you're feeling at that very moment."

I was asking myself earlier, "Why now? Why did God put this in my life RIGHT now?" Jeremiah 29:11 was the first thing that popped into my head:

~ For I know the plans that I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope. ~

I love it when scripture is the first thing that comes to mind, and when it's the only thing that puts my mind at ease. I might not know "why" right now, but I will. All I know right now is that I will have a future, and a hope; and right now, that's all I need. :)

2 cuties...

I took this picture back in June at SLO High's graduation ceremony. I LOVE this pic, I mean really, really love it. The colors, the kids; it's just amazing-not tooting my own horn, or anything. :)

Dad, Mom, and I are heading down to LA Children's Hospital tomorrow to see an orthopedist. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous, but I'm not lying when I say I'm not (it's complicated). I'm nervous as to what my parents (mostly my Mom) are going to say/not say/decide, and how I'm going to respond to said actions. All I'm focused on is not bursting into tears out of stress/nervousness (I tend to do that in certain situations). I starting tearing up, snot running everywhere, and I start shaking more than a 7.0 earthquake...no bueno. *sigh* I'll pray for nervous of steel tonight. I know what he (the doc) will most likely...definitely say anyways, so really, I should be more than prepared (I've had the same conversation dozens of times). Oy, I need a chill pill. :)

Anywhos, on a happier note, I get to babysit my fave little man Matty Friday night! Yay! I haven't babysat him since a couple weeks before graduation! WAAAY too long. I'm stoked! We're going to watch Tarzan (one of my faves). Double yay!! Can't wait! :D

needs, wants, and some flowers too...

I enjoy taking pictures of flowers-they're one of the only subjects that don't move. :)

I'm looking forward to when I have my new camera, and being able to take pictures that aren't so pixelated (you can definitely see the pixelation in these pics...the color's pretty though!)...*sigh*, I need to save for a laptop first (only about $600 more for that). I can't even start thinking about spending another $900 on a camera. But every time I take a pic, I think, "Gosh, I hate this." Grr, so frustrating. Oh Well, I guess that's the difference between need and want. :)

AZ 2010!...

Well, after all the hubbub of "liquid bombs" at the airport, they didn't even check inside my bag!...I totally could have sneaked my toothpaste through security...*sigh* Oh, well.

AZ was SUPER nice this summer trip! It was only 100F the entire time (hey, it's usually 115F, so this was paradise compared to that)! :)

It's always fun seeing the fam, and I got to see my Aunt Mildred, who I haven't seen in probably about 6 years! She's pretty awesome...Hope you're enjoying summer with your family! :)

idiot airlines...

So, since I couldn't get work off, my Dad and I are leaving for AZ tomorrow (our flight leaves at 12:30PM). My Mom and Sis left yesterday with most of my luggage, but I still have the last minute essentials that I had planned on taking onto the plane with me.....then I remembered, "Oh yeah, isn't there some rule about what/how much liquid stuff you can take with you in your carry-on? What kind of 'liquids' are they looking for?" So, I looked up the list of rules online. Turned out I wasn't going to be able to bring a lot of the stuff I had wanted/needed...crap. Now what? I HATE buying things that I know I have at home, then coming home with double of everything that takes FOREVER to get rid of...GAH! I hate sending my stuff ahead; it throws me all off. Darn airline rules. BTW, I love the pic I found. It's just what I feel like when I go to an airport.
* * * * * *
Hello, my name is Lauren. I'm a 17 year old white Iraqi suicide bomber, and I have chosen San Luis Obispo as my one and only target (since I'm a suicide bomber, I only get one target) for USA's new tyranny and utter destruction......Yeah, right. Idiot airlines.

new blog!...

So, as you can see, I have changed my blog! I felt that my old one was a little too...blue. :) I'm still trying to figure out a couple of things about this new template, but hopefully it will all come together soon!

I have really grown to like birds; on clothes, on jewelry, on anything (hence the bird silhouettes in the upper right corner of the blog)! I've especially liked taking pictures of birds...Personally, I think they're a lot easier than people. :) These are sandpipers (one of my fave) in Morro Bay.

I'm going to AZ next weekend to visit family. Should be a lot of fun...hopefully I won't die from the heat. But, hey, if my Dad can do it, then so can I! I'll just spend most of my time in the pool. :)

friends on the 4th...

My 4th of July was most definitely one of (if not) the BEST 4th of July I've ever had! I had such an awesome time just hanging out with my buds.

I helped my friend Evelyn (as shown in the picture above :] ) redo her blog in the afternoon, went to pizza at around 6:00PM, then went to see fireworks in Pismo Beach. Then, late night doughnut run (my fave)!

Such an awesome time. This summer is shaping up quite nicely. :)
