footprints...

I've always loved this poem, and this picture just reminds me so much of it. :)


"One night a man had a dream. He dreamed He was walking along the beach with the LORD. Across the sky flashed scenes from His life. For each scene He noticed two sets of footprints in the sand. One belonging to Him and the other to the LORD.

When the last scene of His life flashed before Him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of His life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times of His life.

This really bothered Him and He questioned the LORD about it. "LORD, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed you most, you would leave me."

The LORD replied, "My precious, precious child. I Love you and I would never leave you! During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."

Pumpkins here, pumpkins there, pumpkins pumpkins everywhere!
Tall ones, short ones, thin ones, stout ones,
Orange ones, yellow ones, pumpkins pumpkins big and small,
Pumpkins just seem to brighten up Fall. :)

backyard picnic...

It was such a nice day yesterday, that I decided to have a backyard picnic with a couple of friends! I made iced coffee, iced tea, lemon bars, and sandwiches in the shape of butterflies (I used an old cookie cutter to cut out the sandwiches). We had such a fun time - I think we need to do it more often. :)

Heartland's Monterey Trip...

My home school group, Heartland Christian Academy, went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium this past Monday. Unfortunately, it wasn't the best trip I've had to the aquarium; but hey, I know I'll be back soon. :)

My Golden Birthday!

• 9:30AM - Kayaking in Morro Bay
• 12:00PM - Home for a lovely waffle brunch
• 4:30PM - Dinner at the Olde Port Inn
• 7:30PM - Off to the Clark Center for Pirate's of Penzance!

All in all, a very lovely, fun-filled day! :)

stress relief, the basics of baking...

I have always wondered, "What do I do to get rid of stress or moodiness?". Some people read, some people go shopping, and some people, just...sleep! I had tried all of those, and nothing seemed to help.

Then I realized, when I'm alone or sad (and hungry!), I cook! Anything from cupcakes and cookies, to deviled eggs and bacon...I.just.cook; and I ALWAYS feel better! It's such a weird thing, I can't explain it, cooking just relaxes me. Maybe I should take some culinary classes? :)

senior pics!...

I've been babysitting for the Leonard's for about...5 years (wow, that's long), and I've always loved Lisa's pictures. So, out of the goodness of her heart, she agreed to take my senior pics...and I LOVE them! We went out to Montana De Oro at about 9:30am, and it.was.HOT! We were both dying on the walk back to the car after going on the trails, haha. Yet, it was all worth it. :)
